Dying Light
One more Dying Light 2 interview is here and it explains what to expect with the new day & night cycle in the Dying Light world
The days are ticking down and Dying Light 2 is almost here, but that does not mean we are not Dying 2 Know more for the game. That is the joke that Techland has been going with when it comes to their extra interviews and footage they have to share for the game. This time around, it is in regards to the Day & Night cycle that we will get to experience in Dying Light 2 and how it will shake things up from what we knew before. It was something that we all knew was coming, as it is a staple in the IP but this time you will not only be able to run it all on Day Mode. You will have to venture into the Night as well.
Some of this has been touched on for Dying Light 2 already, but it does look like the studio is taking in feedback and input from those playing their game. As they go on to explain, in the first title most never went out at night unless the mission required it. Why would you when there are more dangers in the mix? In Dying Light 2, though, there are more reasons beyond the game dictating it. Like that some of the buildings will be filled with the lazy and sleeping infected at night instead of hoards of them just waiting around. This is where all of the good gear and loot will be, so it will behoove us to take on some of these missions at night to try to make life a bit easier for us an Aiden.
Another interesting thing, and this might be a mixed bag, is that Aiden is infected too and needs the light to stay human. This seems in terms of both the sun and the UV lights out there in Dying Light 2. This sounds like it could add an extra bit of danger but also reward if it plays like I think it will in the game. Especially since we will need to collect infected "trophies" while out in the wastes so we can upgrade Aiden along the way. Some of them only come out at night from how it sounds, again one more way to encourage the player to use all of the systems in Dying Light 2 and not just play the basic and easier modes of it all. Kudos to them for figuring out how to force the mechanics.
Dying Light 2 — Dying 2 Know More - Day & Night
Let's face the night in Dying Light 2 with lead game designer, Tymon Smektala!
Did you always play Dying Light during the day mode and will this be a way to force you to expand your horizons with the systems? Do you think all of this could add too much of a hardship to the game or will it all be one more resource to manage? Will you always go in guns blazing to these nests no matter what time of day it is or will you always try to go in as sneaky as possible? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. As more for Dying Light 2 comes out there, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and everything else we have on the site.
