It Is Time To Peek Behind The Curtains For Dune: Spice Wars

Dune

A new behind the scenes video for Dune: Spice Wars is here to help us better understand how this Dune is going to function

Hot on the tails of the official announcement that Dune: Spice Wars is going to be a thing on PC in 2022, we have our first behind-the-scenes look at the game and how it is being made. Well, more of the how Shiro Games is making the game and a little less on the side of what is truly going on in the game. Not a terrible thing for all of those fans of Dune that are looking for a little something beyond the CGI trailer and few screenshots we had before. There is just still a lot more about this game that is hidden out there as it feels like the hype is only now starting up for this one at the end of 2021. It is all about the synergy, I guess.

Anyway, here we have a look at a bit more for Dune: Spice Wars and some of the work that has been done. There looks to be a day and night cycle added into the game here to keep the world filling a bit more fluid than just basic deserts out there. Not to mention that it looks like the team is going further down the path of the books instead of the films. A solid choice to go with, as I am sure that Funcom would have had a bit of trouble nailing down the Dune rights if they wanted it to be based around the latest film adaptation. Not to mention that this will be cheaper and offer more freedom to the developers to make sure we get a good title instead of one forced to tie into other's work out there.

Are you more excited to see that this will be closer to the book version of Dune instead of the films? How often do you think we will get to fully experience the day and night cycle or will it be just a way to give us different scenarios and not seeing the sun rise and fall? How do you think it will fit into the bigger narrative or will it just follow parts of the story but give us the 4X RTS gameplay in the mix? Let everyone out there know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. There will certainly be more for Dune: Spice Wars and it will be on our site as soon as there is. Please keep checking back for all of that and everything else that is still to come.
