More of that fun Nordic folklore is on its way to our PC and consoles out there with the showing of Bramble: The Mountain King coming at us here. This is a new adventure/horror title that Dimfrost Studio is working on here to give us another deep tale set in the lands that can be overlooked quite often. Well, at least before as of late, as Bramble feels like it is going to fit in with all of the other titles that are heading down these paths here. In a good way and not in one of those "clone" ways that we get every few years. Even if this gameplay does feel like it is heavily inspired by some other great titles out there already.
As you will see in the following gameplay for Bramble, we will be taking on the roles of a brother and sister combo as they make their way out of a magical forest. They have been lost in there somehow and need to make it out while facing off against all forms of Nordic creatures. Gnomes and Trolls being the bigger ones pointed out, but it does look like some darker entities are out there to hinder them along the way. Given that it looks like the gnomes in Bramble follow us around and we need to keep them alive in certain sections, I going to assume that all of these interactions will not be a negative one for us. Bear traps to the neck for the gnomes, well, that is their problem.
Bramble: The Mountain King — “The Land Of Bramble”
Coming to PC and console in 2022, Bramble: The Mountain King sees players take on the role of a young boy who together with his big sister, is lost in a magical forest. On their journey, they will meet and interact with gnomes, trolls, and other creatures inspired by Nordic folklore.
The new gameplay trailer showcases a new glimpse into the Bramble world as well as some of the curious inhabitants of the magical forest, and how players will interact with them on their journey. The trailer also teases some of the games’ combat, stealth mechanics, and environmental puzzles including navigating a group of tiny gnomes across a dangerous path.
Bramble: The Mountain King is a story-driven adventure/horror game focused on atmospheric environments, high-end graphics, cinematic moments, and casual gameplay. Throughout the game, you will embark on a journey through the dark world of Bramble where you will encounter “David vs Goliath” bosses and explore and traverse Nordic nature. You will meet interesting creatures and experience a unique world filled with Nordic fables and fairy tales.
Do you think that Bramble will be able to set itself apart from the other sibling survival games or will it lean in and tell us a great new story? Do you think that the gnomes will be more than just an escort mission here or will they be there like the Pikmin and lemmings that they look to be only? How often will we be forced into the stealth sections and how will any combat function in the game? Answer all of these questions and more down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If we have more to share for Bramble: The Mountain King, know that it will be on the site for you. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more.
