Vampire
A new developer diary for Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong is out with a new look at the music each vampire in the game will have
With the word song in the title for Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong, we should be expecting that music will play some kind of role in the game in general. Not that this is a music or rhythm game that Big Bad Wolf is making for us, but the game will not be a silent adventure. Most video games have music and amazing soundtracks, and it looks like this one will not be much different than the others. Even to the point that each vampire will have their very own specific theme and feel for when we have them in control and when they might be losing it over the course of the story. Also to be mostly expected, but now we have a new developer diary to highlight all of that and give us a taste of what will be dripping out there this coming February.
Each of the three playable vampire characters in Swansong will have drastically different themes that the composers have put together. One them a dark and metal style to it all that ramps up as the emotions run high. Another a little more on the melodic and close to a nursery rhyme style of things. The last having massive Jazz influences based on the various characters. Galeb, Leysha, and Emem respectively for those trying to follow along here. All with a fourth theme highlighted here to represent something else in the world of vampire. Have a listen and get a sample of what will be flowing into our ears when the game does finally launch out there.
Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong — Music, Mood, & Themes Dev Diary
Olivier Deriviere is known to be a bit of a maverick when it comes to the creation of music, scoring a number of famous video games, the latest of which is Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong.
Drawing on a range of styles, Olivier tells us what led to the creation of 3 diverse themes for our playable characters and the main theme of the game.
This music is part of the backbone of Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong, a narrative RPG where 3 characters' intertwined stories will decide the fate of Boston. Coming in 2022 to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
