Kingdom Of The Dead Will Take Us Back Into A Different Era Of FPS

Kingdom Of The Dead

A new retro FPS, Kingdom Of The Dead, is coming and it looks like Kingdom Of The Dead will play with some lights to give us some old fun

There is certainly a run on "retro" style video games as of late as we add another to the list with Kingdom Of The Dead. Retro in the way that the teams are opting to go with the lower-end visuals and styles to bring us a new game and then hopefully focus on the gameplay mechanics a bit more. That is the hope once again with this new title as we have from Dirigo Games that looks the part. From the gameplay here for Kingdom Of The Dead, it also looks like it could walk the walk when it does launch on the PC in 2022. There is still a lot of time to perfect things for it, sure, but here we go with what we have to get excited for and look towards to hit us soon.

As you can see below, Kingdom Of The Dead will take us into a classic-feeling FPS game that highlights hand-drawn worlds and creatures while also playing with the color palette. By play with, you can read that as dropping it all and giving us just a Black and White feel all through the game. Interestingly, it does look like it will be mixing in some fun lighting effects in the mix of it all too. Not something that one would think would work well in this kind of setting, but the trailer here makes it pop to me. It looks like this could also translate over to the various weapons and levels we will experience in Kingdom Of The Dead, but it could still be too early to tell for all of that here. There is still a whole lot of time we are going to have to wait until this one drops, so things can always change and evolve.
