Take in a bit of the story for Lies Of P and see how Lies Of P will turn the Pinocchio story into a twisted Souls-like title
I do love a dark twist on some of those family favorites that were originally grounded in darkness, and here we go with Lies Of P taking us down a dark path for Pinocchio again. It is not the first time some form of media has done this but now we get to see how Round8 Studio and NEOWIZ will turn this into a Souls-like title to enjoy on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in the future. While it would be nice to see how Lies Of P in function here, we do not seem to have gameplay to show off, we have a bit of the story to take in and get a feel for how dark this tale might be. Also a bit on how twisted the world of the game is going to be beyond the Disney version of it all that many will go to when they hear the source of it all. That is where I know I generally go too.
In Lies Of P, we will be playing as the puppet with a bit of a twist. We will be more of a mechanoid in the game and heading out into a world that has fallen to some kind of despair and filled with all kinds of death. It is hard to see what has caused all of the issues out there, but my guess is that it will have something to do with other robots, androids, or mechanoids out there with Geppetto bringing us to life for some reason out there. I have a feeling it will be to help save the world, but I would love to see Lies Of P take a turn and make us all the bigger villain out there instead. That would be a fun twist and epic way to end it all here. We will need to wait to see all of that and maybe some gameplay in the near future too. I am sure it will be much like the other Souls-like games we have had but with this new dark and gothic look to it all from this trailer.
Lies Of P — Story Trailer
This is Lies Of P, a brand new Souls-like Action RPG inspired by the classic Italian novel from Carlo Collodi. Built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series S/X systems, Lies Of P tells the story of Pinocchio as you’ve never seen it before. As Pinocchio himself, you must navigate through a dark Belle Epoque world where all of humanity is lost. The once beautiful city of Krat has become a living hell, and you must find the famed Mr. Geppetto to unravel the mystery of what happened to both yourself and the world around you.
As the puppet mechanoid Pinocchio, you will wind your way through the streets of a ruined city, crafting weapons from the materials you find in the world, and interacting with the remaining few who manage to survive in this pre-industrial hellscape. The more you lie, the more human you become, with all the advantages and disadvantages that it entails. A richly detailed crafting system, profound narrative choices, and deeply customizable character progression round out the RPG features in Lies Of P.
