Hello Neighbor
The AI for Hello Neighbor 2 is going to be vastly more intelligent than we saw in the last Hello Neighbor
In games like Hello Neighbor 2, we should be expecting a solid AI and pathfinding set up to give us all some kind of challenge to the game. It was in there fairly well in the last game but as we move forward we need things to get a little more accurate and challenging. You know where this is all going here, as we have a new update for the AI in Hello Neighbor 2 and it looks like it is going a bit more off the rails than we could have expected. In this new game, it looks like it is going to not only be strong from the start. It will always be learning from us and the rest of the community in general. Just as we need for a game about an AI character kidnapping kids to lock in basements…
This will obviously lead to some scarier interactions and events in Hello Neighbor, as it looks like the character will learn from not only the environments but based on our actions at all times. If you hide in the closets all the time, he will start searching more. If you always take a similar path or style of path, he will start stalking you along those paths too. This extends to how everyone else plays the game too and all of the other NPCs out in the world of Hello Neighbor 2. This just adds another thing into the mix of things to worry about as the side characters in the area will have their own AI and actions too. This makes me think some might be in collusion with the neighbor and not also looking for the same answers.
Hello Neighbor 2 — AI Explained
Hello Neighbor 2 is the sequel to the groundbreaking Stealth Horror Game with constantly evolving AI.
Welcome to Raven Brooks. You're being stalked by a mysterious creature as you try to track down Mr. Peterson (The Neighbor) who has disappeared after the events of the first game. Play against an advanced, self-learning AI that tracks and adapts to your every move.
Self-learning AI
- AI explores the environment and constantly seeks ways to ambush the player.
- AI watches player navigation patterns and if these seem to be effective, will replicate them.
- AI has a daily routine that gets disrupted by the player: sleeping, eating, cooking, and possibly going into the woods to dig up bags of non-bodies.
- AI will use the same objects as the player, using them for the same purposes. If the player uses a fire extinguisher to get up top, so will the AI.
Does this impress you or scare you for how Hello Neighbor 2 is going to flow for us all? Do you think that this AI will get too out of hand over time or will there be some kind of limits to make sure that we can actually survive the game? How do you think all of the NPCs will build into it all and will it be truly worth the time to go through the side stories for them? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If we have more to share for Hello Neighbor 2, you know we will have it here for you. Keep stalking around the site for all of that and much more out there.
