With each new week as we work toward Returnal's April 30th release on the PS5, we are seeing more of the story building up for the game. Something that originally looked to be just a shooter on an alien world from Housemarque is starting to look like there is something truly deeper out there. All on the psychological side of it all too with this new story trailer we have for Returnal. It is still hard to say what is truly going on here, but there are a few more things we can take away from it and maybe figure out what we will have. that or be completely off the mark with a theory and be surprised in other ways out there. That can be part of the fun too.
The following story trailer for Returnal does offer up some new gameplay for what looks to be the core loop of it all in addition to some new story bits. The story bits pointing more toward things happening in our protagonist's head more than anything or maybe something else warping the world to fit this view. Some of it teetering on the horror side of things more than the Sci-Fi if you ask me. Almost as if something is using the past to torment us if it is not to help deal with some kind of trauma. It would be interesting to see if this was all some kind of fever dream going on in Returnal and not what we all are assuming from the lush environments and how each will shift based on how we enter the realms.

What do you think is going on in Returnal after seeing all of this? Do you think this will all make more sense when we play the game or could it get out of control with each time we pass and need to enter the loop one more time? Could we see more of a horror here or something that is not a true Sci-Fi as it has looked like this game will be since the announcement? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more to share for Returnal, you know we will have it all here. Keep checking back for all of that and much more as we head toward the release.
