Maquette
The release date for Maquette has been given to us along with the cast of actors lending their voices to Maquette to help with the story
It is that time of year again when all of the love stories come out to torment us all and it looks like Maquette is aiming a little outside of that normal timeline. In fact, this interesting puzzle title from Graceful Decay is looking to hit the PS4, PS5, and PC on March 2nd for those looking to have a fun game with a tale that might make or break some hearts out there. It is hard to say with what we do know for Maquette up to now, but it does look like it could. All while offering up some interesting perspective and nesting game mechanics out there. Nesting in the way of us modifying the outer world with our actions in the inner world. The following trailer might help make better sense of that for you here.
In addition to seeing how we will be able to affect the outside world of Maquette here, it looks like there will be a bigger narrative that will be going on in the mix too. Something that will show the problems of a modern-day love story and how some of the issues can become much larger in scale than any involved could have thought. My guess is that we will be piecing things back together and overcoming some of the metaphoric elements that will show up in Maquette based on all of this. We can see how some of the keys and mental blocks will be presented in the game, so we will need to handle all of that. I am also certain that some of these bridges could be more than just the physical bridge will we be using to get over things.
Maquette — Cast Announce
Maquette is a first-person recursive puzzle game that takes you into a world where every building, plant, and object are simultaneously tiny and staggeringly huge. Maquette makes it possible by twisting the world into itself recursively in an MC Escher-esque fashion.
Head to the center of the world and you'll feel like a giant, towering over buildings and walls. But venture further out, and start to feel small as things get larger and larger - to the point where cracks in the ground become chasms.
In Maquette, you will explore the scales of everyday problems in a modern-day love story. Where sometimes the smallest of issues can become insurmountable obstacles.
Developed by Graceful Decay. Published by Annapurna Interactive.
Have you been paying attention to Maquette well before this announcement here or is this your first look at it all? Do you think that we will see many metaphors mixed in here or will they just literally be blocks, keys, and bridges instead? Do you think that this will truly show off a modern-day love story or will it still be the glamorized version that the media usually offers up? Let us all know your thoughts on this and everything else down in the comments. If there is more to share for Maquette, we will offer it up here for you. Please keep checking back in for all of that and much more out there.
