Hitman
New footage for Hitman 3 gives us a look at how the whole Hitman trilogy will function in a VR setting
It was not a huge secret that we would be seeing all of the Hitman trilogy here in the past few years in a VR setting. On the PSVR and various PC VR settings too. This was something that seemed to be a bit of a rougher thing to do given how the games have been put out there by IO Interactive, but it looks like they are making it work. All of which comes to us when Hitman 3 drops on January 20th and now we get a little taste of how they are putting us into the role of Agent 47 a little bit more. Even if it looks like we are going to have some stretchy arms in the game.
I am still a bit curious to see how all of the basic mechanics from this version of Hitman will work in a VR space. Will it all be just contextual button presses still to strangle or will we need to physically move the controllers in the motion to strangle the enemies? It looks like we will have to swing the blades and other objects we will see in the world, so we could assume that. We do not have to assume much longer, thankfully, as long as we aim to get Hitman 3 and have a VR rig already set up. The videos just do not show us all too well.
Hitman 3 — Sandbox VR
Hitman 3 takes immersion to the next level with PS VR. Hitman has always been about immersing yourself in a living, breathing world. A world filled to the brim with interesting characters, secrets, and opportunities. But you’ve never experienced it like this.
Hitman 3 will be available on 20 January 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. Hitman 3 will also be coming to Nintendo Switch, playable via cloud streaming technology. Pre-order today for access to the Trinity Pack, a celebration of the World of Assassination.
Are you going to be playing Hitman 3 in the normal manner or will you be looking to go in on the VR side of things? Will we have to do the physical motions or will it just be easier to have the button presses and watch an animation instead? When do you think we will see other titles trying to go the same path or will that still be far down the line? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all below. If there is more for the Hitman IP, we will share it all here. Keep checking back for all of that and much more.
