Ascent
The release window for The Ascent is now set in 2021 but we have a plethora of new gameplay for The Ascent to see now
We will not be seeing The Ascent on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC this year, but that is okay as it does look like it will be worth the wait. I say this as we have some new gameplay here that Neon Giant has put together to show how they are vastly improving things from what we saw before. The Ascent looked amazing before now and here we go and see a whole lot more for the game and a few of the ways that this action-RPG has been evolved. Especially when you see that we will have some cutscenes in the game where it was assumed that it would not be the case before. That is why I am generally okay with many of the delays we see for our games out there.
You can see a whole lot of it in the following video for The Ascent, but we get a solid look at how the two targeting system in the game will work where there is a high and low angle. Thus using come cover out there to protect yourselves in the world. We will need to be worried about this out there given that the morality of the NPCs out there will be in flux and we will only be able to rely on our buddies in the world of The Ascent. Especially with how explosive everything looks to be in the world. That also includes all of the enemies we will be shooting out there. It is a little on the crazy side when you see it all.
The Ascent — Developer Walkthrough
The developers from Neon Giant show us footage of 2 player co-op and explain more about the dystopian world of The Ascent.
The Ascent comes to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One & PC in 2021 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch!
The Ascent is a solo and co-op action-RPG set in a cyberpunk world. Mega-corporation The Ascent Group, which owns everyone including yourself, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it?
The survival of your district is threatened: rival corporations are trying to force appropriation and crime syndicates are looking to boost their black-market augmentation trade. You must take up arms to stop them from seizing control and embark on a new mission to find out what started it all.
The Ascent will offer players the chance to step into an action-orientated sci-fi RPG, powered by Unreal Engine 4, that takes the genre to new levels, available to play in both single-player and up to four-player co-op.
Are you upset that The Ascent is going to need more time out there or will it be worth the wait after seeing this? Do you think that we will get some truly in-depth scenes in the game or will it be short little scenes to build up to a fight? How tricky do you think the targeting will be in the game and will it flow perfectly well in the final game? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there are further updates for The Ascent, we will add it all to the site for you. Just be sure to keep checking in for that and much more.
