Werewolf
The release date for Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart Of The Forest is set for us all to finally play the first Werewolf: The Apocalypse video game
After all of this waiting, we finally have a release date for Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart Of The Forest on the PC. It kept getting listed as a Q4 release for 2020 and it, thankfully, looks like that will be the case and a lot earlier than we assumed. In fact, we can now look forward to this Werewolf: The Apocalypse video game on October 13th. That would be next Friday as of this writing and quite a fast turnaround since its demo first dropped. Even if this one will not be for everyone, it is nice to see that things are still getting out there with some kind of speed.
This does mean that we also have a trailer to go with the announcement that shows us a bit more of the gameplay we will see in the game. Also a few cool looks at how some of the characters will be depicted both as a human and as a werewolf. All of that and the latest developer diary that discusses more on how the game was made and the five distinct endings we can get in the game. That does imply that we will see vastly different things play out at the end of it all, but we will not know for certain until we dive into this Werewolf title for ourselves. That or watch someone else play through online and spoil all of the fun.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart Of The Forest — Release Date
Different Tales and Walkabout Games are proud to announce that Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart Of The Forest, the first-ever video game based on the legendary tabletop RPG, will launch on 13th October 2020 on PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam, GOG.com.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Heart Of The Forest is a savage, story-focused, horror game that features extensive narrative branching, with more than 200,000 paths leading to 5 main endings. The player becomes Maia, a young woman who comes to Poland looking for her roots only to end up being drafted into an ancient war.
This game elevates the visual novel genre by adapting the Rage and Willpower mechanics from the legendary tabletop RPG. Maia’s personality is determined by the player’s choices and the world around her adapts accordingly. By controlling Rage, the game’s primary resource, the player can change Maia’s perspective and see aspects that will be invisible in other playthroughs.
Heart Of The Forest is set in a real-world location: the Bialowieza Forest a.k.a. the Puszcza, the last primal wilderness in Europe. Maia’s story was inspired by 2016-2017 protests against commercial logging of the forest, which resulted in the European Union judiciary ordering a stop to deforestation.
