Baldur’s Gate 3 Is Mixing Up Some Of The Cinematics With Interactivity

A new breakdown for Baldur’s Gate 3 has let us all know that this Baldur’s Gate will not only give you options in your scenes but also the crowds

Here we go with an interesting twist for Baldur’s Gate 3 just before it all heads into Early Access on the 30th. It looks as if the cinematics in the game will not just be some nice movies we get to watch that Larian Studios has put together. Instead, things look to be a bit more dynamic and can alter the events of the game amongst other things. Not that groundbreaking when you hear about it at first, but the version we are going to be seeing in Baldur’s Gate 3 looks to mix things up to the point where players outside of the scene can interact with things and possible ruin your character's day. One example being that you can get your pockets picked while going through a scene that others are not a part of. It would be your fault for being distracted and letting other players you do not trust nearby.

It can go both ways, certainly, but another feature we will see in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a new voting system for certain interactions and choices to be made. One example being that of a player playing as a vampire that needs to feed on his allies. Something can cause your party to go into a weird voting system to see who may get the bite. Also, there looks to be some Twitch interactivity that will allow you to give control over to those watching you Baldur’s Gate 3 instead of enjoying on their own. You and the crowd will get to vote on the dialog option to let the story play out as the majority wants instead. Interesting to see, but given my lack of faith in humanity, not something that is screaming for me to partake in. See more details on that just a bit lower down.

Baldur’s Gate 3 — Breaking Down Multiplayer & Cinematics

Today we're breaking down our Early Access’ cinematic ambitions, and showing how we're introducing more interactivity through Twitch integration and Stadia Crowd Choice. A huge leap from Divinity: Original Sin’s rock-paper-scissors multiplayer interactions, Baldur’s Gate 3 features 1.5 million words, with fully cinematic dialogues.

Using a mix of performance capture, and bespoke adaptive cameras, the game is able to react to whoever you are, and whatever you do, both in multiplayer or single-player. With the addition of streaming integration, even viewers who may not own the game now have a say in your journey.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access launches on September 30th to Steam and Stadia.
