Hyper Scape
A new battle royale game, Hyper Scape, is announced and it looks like a few things are getting changed in the genre with Hyper Scape
Not to be left out of the game here, it looks like we have one more Battle Royale game on the way out there from Ubisoft with the announcement of Hyper Scape. A new 100-player free-for-all set in a bit more of a futuristic and virtual style of space. That is at least the head cannon I am going with here for Hyper Scape given some of the ways that Ubisoft Montreal are trying to change up the formula here besides aesthetics, character options, and weapons in the game. Each version of this genre needs to have something to set it apart so players will leave the big ones out there now and give the new ones a shot. I guess this is where the game's Hacks will play a bigger role when it hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
As you will see in all of the videos for Hyper Scape that we have here, the game is set in a cyberpunk style world that feels more like a virtual space we dive into. The gameplay looks to flow just as normal for a battle royale game up until we start getting into the Hacks that are dropped throughout that will let us modify parts of the gameplay for our characters. Something that will also come in handy when the game master and Twitch viewers start firing off different events in Hyper Scape to further keep matches dynamic. As if the slowly dissolving world was not already something bigger to worry about, but that is more or less the way they are bringing the shrinking bubble for the match to finally get to capture the flag style of play. Have a look and get a little more out of it all here.

Hyper Scape — Gameplay Overview
Hyper Scape is an urban futuristic free-to-play battle royale where 100 contenders engage in first-person shooter close-quarters and fast-paced matches to become the next global superstar.
Hyper Scape was designed from the ground up as an intense, vertical, and fast-paced battle royale experience. Three-player squads and solo players can dive into the futuristic virtual city of Neo-Arcadia to engage in dynamic firefights, quickly transitioning from narrow streets to open rooftops and deadly interiors.
Hyper Scape introduces Hacks, abilities that players can loot in the world the same way they do weapons. Hacks grant offensive and defensive capabilities to suit all play styles. Laying down a mine, seeking an enemy, protecting the squad with a big wall, or turning invisible to sneak up on opponents are just a few examples of the Hacks players can combine and swap effortlessly. All Hacks and weapons can be upgraded through the Fusion mechanic to produce more powerful iterations of the pre-existing item.
Hyper Scape innovates and twists the battle royale formula in many ways, such as the unpredictable Decay which dissolves the map of Neo-Arcadia into different patterns, or the unique Echo mechanic that keeps players active in the battle even when they’re down. At the end of a Hyper Scape match, the climactic showdown phase starts when the Hyper Scape crown spawns on the map. Players have two different ways to claim victory, either by picking up and carrying the crown for 45 seconds or by being the last player or squad standing.
Hyper Scape is fun to play and rewarding to watch. Developed in partnership with Twitch, the Hyper Scape Crowncast Twitch extension will entertain viewers by letting them impact the game in real-time, creating unprecedented interaction between streamers and their fans. Viewers will also have a real-time impact on the battle by voting on events that affect all contenders within a match, such as low gravity or infinite ammo.

Does Hyper Scape look like it could be the next big thing out there for the genre or will it be something only a small part of the population will split to? Do you like the idea of having ways to "hack" the game to keep everyone on their toes or will that just be an easy way to offer abilities in the game? Do you think we will see more than the capture the crown events near the end of matches or will this be how it always boils down? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If we have anything more to share for Hyper Scape, you know we will share it all here.
