Predator
We have new DLC coming to Predator: Hunting Grounds with the first bringing back the Predator star that started it all
We all figured that Predator: Hunting Grounds was going to get some updates and DLC after it launched on the PS4 and PC. It is the nature of the beast and it would be a bit more surprising if IllFonic did not offer up any updates after launch. Now we have word on just what will be coming to Predator: Hunting Grounds on May 26th now. Both as Free DLC and as Paid DLC for those that are willing to throw down a bit more cash for the game. More so when you find out that Dutch is coming back to the universe and in the most proper fashion we could expect.
Yes, Schwarzenegger is coming back to the Predator franchise and not only in likeness but also in voice and various other things. Unlike other games that are based on his career, this one was able to score the main man to do all of the voice work too. It might only sound a bit off given the age difference from the '87 film and now, but that should be negligible. I guess we will see as that is the paid version of the DLC and the Free stuff will be hidden audio tapes in Predator: Hunting Grounds that will continue some of Dutch's story on after the film. The finer details on what that will hold will be heard here in a few days. Given how they handled the extra stuff for Friday The 13th, I can see this being another great addition.
We are bringing Dutch to Predator: Hunting Grounds. Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger has reprised one of my favorite roles from childhood for this game. The game that IllFonic has developed out of a love for the ’87 Predator. To say my inner child cannot be contained is putting it mildly. Yes, I got to meet him, and yes, I think I kept my cool. We got to spend a day in sunny California recording with Arnold. And before you ask, Arnold truly is one of the nicest people I have met in my lifetime.
In order to make Predator: Hunting Grounds the game we envisioned it to be, it had to include Dutch’s story and bringing him back into the universe. We have created two different items for the community in order to do this. The first is a free update, available for all players who own the game. Players will be able to learn where Dutch has been all these years and hear his story in his own words through a series of voice tapes that you earn as you level up.
The second is a Paid DLC pack where you can play as Dutch and get early access to the QR5 “Hammerhead” Rifle and Dutch’s Knife! (available free for all players later in June) Getting the future Dutch just right was so exciting for the entire team. Creating the details, working with our partners to make certain everything fit together perfectly in the universe, and of course, working with the legend himself has been a dream come true. We cannot wait until you can get access to both the free update and the paid DLC on May 26!
Rest assured, the content doesn’t stop with Dutch. We have some really fun stuff in store for the community. We have both free updates and paid DLC coming in the months ahead that will keep you on your toes in the hunt and continue to make the game exciting for everyone. With the free updates, we plan to introduce new weapons, game modes, and more. We will share more as we get closer to each content drop. For the various paid DLC you will get access to more themed character packs. Dutch is just the beginning!
Are you glad to see we are going back to the full Predator history with the character here or is it more fan-service we all expected from the start? Do you think these tapes will be just as hard to find in the matches or will they make it a bit easier for those looking for the lore? What other characters do you think we are going to get back from the films or do you think they will go a different path for the Paid DLC? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss it all. For more on Predator: Hunting Grounds, keep checking back in here. We will keep the information all flowing as best we can.
