In only a few days, many of us will be able to dive into what DOOM Eternal has for us in single-player and multiplayer. March 20th is going to be a day of saving many of us from boredom and take us into a virtual Hell instead of what we are still dealing with here. It is also nice to know that id Software put a whole lot of work into the online social aspect of the game before we were forced into keeping things in that arena. More so than just earning all of the cool little cosmetics for DOOM Eternal and streaming the high-paced action to all of those sitting around without it. Also something we get a bit more of a dive into with the latest developer diary.
We know it is not everyone's favorite thing for video games, but we do have another little breakdown of how certain things in DOOM Eternal came to be. Also a few new little tidbits on how some of the social interactions will be handled. Like the fact that you can give boosts of XP to other players you have played with in the online modes. Although, I am rather partial to the way that the character skins came about and are being handled here in DOOM. All from the special edition toys that we all still collect for our games and in general with the "biggest" versions being the fully remodeled characters to play within the game. One more of which is shown off here with a hipster vibe to it all. Not my cup of tea, but something happy to look forward to.
