The Dark Crystal
Just before the launch of The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Tactics we get a good look at the antagonists of The Dark Crystal in rare form
Tomorrow (Feb. 4th) marks the day that The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Tactics lands on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch, and it feels as if we have not been given the fullest of breakdowns for the game. I mean, we know who the villains of the game are going to be as BonusXP is sticking close to the source and we will see the Skeksis in there trying to wreck our faces. There has been no hiding that. What we have yet to see are any of the abilities and/or classes that they will employ in The Dark Crystal here. This all means you have to wait for the…until now… as that is what we have to go over here today. In a small way, but it is more than waiting until you are able to load the game up and be surprised by it all.
We did not get a nice long trailer to show these villains off, but we have a quick summary and gif breakdown of a few of the different classes they will have in The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Tactics that we will have to deal with. More or less, they are about the basic types we could imagine with the Skeksis flare about them. Not all too shocking and expected, but we have word that we will have to face off against the Emperor himself. If that will be the same from The Dark Crystal, in general, is still yet to be seen. We just know that will be one of the toughest fights we will have to go through in the game. Have a look at it all in flow down below.
The Chamberlain
While the Chamberlain can deliver some pretty serious blows in combat, the real danger he poses is that he can use “Please, Please” (his signature catch phrase) to Confuse some of your best heroes. And worse, he can use “Skeksis, Friend…” to convert Confused heroes to his side! Your best ally could suddenly become your worst enemy — so don’t count on any one hero to get you through a fight with the Chamberlain on the battlefield!
The Hunter
One of the most fearsome Skeksis around, the Hunter is fast and deadly. His “Leap Away” ability allows him to get out of reach… which he follows up with “Deadly Plunge,” leaping back to anywhere on the map and Stunning everybody in the nearby area. Between that combo and his “Cleave” ability, your best bet is to spread out to minimize damage… and even then, you might just have to sacrifice one of your heroes as a distraction.
The General
As his name suggests, the General is a master of strategy and tactics, meaning that he can use his “Command!” ability to let his allies take their turns immediately, or his “Intimidate” ability to reduce his opponents’ Attack and Defense, as well as Silence them (preventing them from using their own abilities). The General also hits harder than nearly any other Skeksis, so make sure you have a healer on hand!
The Scientist
Arguably the weakest of the Skeksis, the Scientist relies on his devices and alchemical concoctions — like “Explosive Cask” and “Salt the Earth” –to deal damage at long range or to Poison tiles, forcing heroes to choose between taking damage every turn, or going the long way around to reach their targets. Be sure you have someone on your team who can remove Negative Status Effects!
Are you ready to get back into The Dark Crystal in this form or will you be passing for now? Do you like seeing the basics of the Skeksis will be more than we have seen before or is it a bit off? What other classes do you see coming to them to try to wreck our faces? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is anything else to add for The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance Tactics, we will have it all here. That will all be based on how well this one goes over I would guess.
