Tell Me Why
During X019 this year, Tell Me Why was announced with Tell Me Why being the next episodic story to delve into some deeper themes than normal
I do hope that we are all about to be ready for another episodic title to come at us, as we have a new one announced with Tell Me Why. This one comes out of the recent X019 event that took place where DontNod made the announcement that the game was coming to the Xbox One and PC via Steam in the Summer of 2020. Thankfully, we can also read that as the whole experience for Tell Me Why will be coming in the Summer of 2020 as it has been announced with it that each episode will flow out during that time and not over the course of the year. That is a great start for those looking to have a nice and interesting experience. Even if it is only three episodes long.
So, what is Tell Me Why all about? Well, it looks like we will be taking on the roles of identical twins with Tyler and Alyson Ronan. Yes, one appears to be male and thus would not be identical, but that is handled here as the team is taking care to tell a gripping story with a transgender lead. The two will be playable in the story and reliving a horrible memory from their past. The choices and actions of Tell Me Why will play out and let us dictate which of the versions of the memory they will get to dictate as truth. We also get to see if their twin bond will grow or shatter along the way. You know, the normal way these stories always seem to play out. Have a look at the announcement trailer here.
Tell Me Why — Announce
This year at X019 in London, Xbox Games Studios was proud to unveil Tell Me Why, a gripping, true-to-life narrative adventure coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Xbox Game Pass, and Steam starting Summer 2020. Tell Me Why is the next title from our partner, DontNod Entertainment, the studio behind the beloved Life Is Strange franchise.
Set in small-town Alaska, Tell Me Why places you at the heart of a mystery in an intimate, true-to-life story where twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan use their extraordinary bond to unravel memories of a loving but troubled childhood.
The story of Tell Me Why is comprised of three chapters that will release on a clear and predictable schedule. DontNod are passionate about the opportunities for community-building and audience engagement that come with episodic storytelling, but they are also dedicated to innovation and improvement.
What do you think about Tell Me Why as it all stands here and do you think we will get it all in a short time as promised? Do you think that this is the right team to head up such a tale given how well that they have done in the past? Do you think that we will see other supernatural elements come in or will it just be a shared memory exercise? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When there is more to share for Tell Me Why, we will share it all here. Be sure to keep swinging back in for all of that and much more.
