Ancestors
The next of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey’s experiences videos is here to give us a deeper feeling for how to explore the world of Ancestors
By now, some of you out there may have had a chance to explore around Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey and give the game a solid look. Exploration is quite a bit of what it is all about here as we try to survive what the species would have had to way back when. Panache Digital Games has done a great job on getting that all rolling for us. There are still some out there waiting for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey to finally hit the PS4 and Xbox One that may feel a bit left out. That is why we are back, yet again, with more to look at for the game and just how the exploration will mirror what we still go through in the modern age we live in now. Interesting to see all of it still relevant.
Anyway, this new behind the scenes video for Ancestors dives into how the team made a lush and full area for us to explore and just how it will all fit in for the grander scheme of things. Including talking to a modern-day explorer that has to go through some of the same fears and experiences we will have in Ancestors. Granted, they have a lot more technology and other advancements that the prime apes do not in the game. That does not change the fact that the human experience still lingers on in other ways. It could just be how the video was shot an edited, but it feels like things are still coming full circle again. Have a look and get back into the game or keep waiting until December when it drops for everyone out there.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey — Experiences: The Explorer
In many ways, Africa remains the harsh land it was millions of years ago. Creative Director Patrice Désilets and National Geographic Explorer Dr. Mireya Mayor identify the traits to forge ahead in this unforgiving terrain. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is out now on PC.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December 2019.
In the Experiences video series, Patrice breaks down Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey’s unique concepts with experts outside of gaming. As scientists, athletes, and creative minds share about their own journeys, they come to see how similar emotions and experiences are created in the game.
In this fourth episode, Patrice and world-renowned primatologist, wildlife correspondent and author Dr. Mireya Mayor pinpoint the characteristics required to explore Africa. A land still possessing the dangerous wildlife, harsh climate, and unpredictable threats as prehistoric times, only those with strong curiosity, drive, and perseverance can successfully navigate this terrain. As Dr. Mayor embarks on her virtual exploration of Africa, she is amazed by its realism and ability to transport her back to past expeditions while allowing her to get up close and see the world in ways that are otherwise impossible.
