Final Fantasy
In a recap for Final Fantasy VII Remake, it has been explained that the classic Final Fantasy VII combat mode will also be an option
If the information dump for Final Fantasy VII Remake was not enough last week with all of the new gameplay, it looks like we have a bit more to take on now. More in a way that will make some of the more die-hard fans of the franchise excited to see Square Enix bringing the game back than just the updated graphics and everything. Like the fact that we are going to be getting a "Classic Mode" when it comes to combat. Something that will bring the game closer to the original Final Fantasy VII we know from 1997 but running on the power of the PS4. That is a lot to take in, I know.
What Classic Mode is for Final Fantasy VII Remake here is that it will be an option we can opt into that will remove the action-based combat in the game for something closer to turn-based. Players will not need to do all of the other crazy functions as the characters will fight automatically and then the player selects which skill or special action they do when the ATB is full. So, things will still be going on while the monsters and enemies are on screen, but just as we knew form Final Fantasy VII before, we will have a nice stopper to give out the finer commands of attack. Something I am glad to see is a true option yet again in the franchise.
We got a glimpse at both "Easy" and "Normal" modes from the in-game option menus, and Kitase-san then showed us a new combat mode, named "Classic Mode". pic.twitter.com/MTVKeFgBL6

In standard modes, the ATB Gauge fills up by repeatedly attacking your enemy, but in Classic Mode this aspect of gameplay is handled automatically. The player does not need to do anything and the character fights automatically, charging up their ATB Gauge. pic.twitter.com/NjuQp2bHBA

What do you think about things going back to how they were in Final Fantasy VII from 1997? Will you be going with this mode or has the action-based combat grown on you over the years? What other features from the original game are you hoping will be back in full swing or as an option to have? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. There is going to be a lot more for Final Fantasy VII Remake and we will be here to cover it all. All you need to do is keep checking back in for all of that and much more on all other things video games.
