Predator
It has been revealed that Predator: Hunting Grounds is on its way and aiming to give players that Predator gameplay experience we have wanted for years
It looks like good news abound all over as we have word that Predator: Hunting Grounds is going to be the next title out of IllFonic. That would be the team behind the asymmetric online multiplayer in the Friday The 13th universe. Now it looks like they are taking their talents to bring us another game in a similar model but in the universe of the Predator. Something that seems like it should have existed already, but for some reason, it has not. This could be why Sony and Fox have given the go-ahead to the team to bring their passion to the forefront and entertain us all again.
While Predator: Hunting Grounds is still in early development and poised to release early next year on the PS4, we do have a few small details outside of the reveal trailer below. In the game, we will take on the role of one of an elite fireteam sent out to go handle some missions. Something the team will need to actually do in the game. One other player will then take on the role of the titular Predator and hunt them down while they achieve their goals in their missions. It is sounding a lot like the first film with a bit of the gameplay we have seen in the team's last title. I am all on board for this, as we will have all the alien tech and agility at our disposal to do this.
Predator: Hunting Grounds — Reveal Trailer
Predator: Hunting Grounds is an immersive asymmetrical shooter set in remote areas around the world, where the Predator stalks the most challenging prey. Play as a member of an elite Fireteam and complete paramilitary operations before the Predator finds you. Or, play as the Predator to hunt the most worthy prey, choosing from your vast array of deadly alien tech to collect your trophies, one by one.
How do you feel about an asymmetric online multiplayer set in the Predator universe after hearing all of this? Do you think this will be another well-suited IP to move into this gameplay style or would you have rather seen it flow a different way? How difficult do you think the missions will be for the rest of the players, as they will need to split attention during the matches? Let us have all of those thoughts down in the comments and then discuss. When we have more for Predator: Hunting Grounds, we will share it all with you. All you need to do is keep checking back in on the site to see it all.
