It looks like RAGE 2 is going to be shaking things up even further than before as now we have a look at the superpowers and abilities we will have in the game. This is something that Avalanche Studios has shown off a bit already, but have not fully detailed out completely. This new video for RAGE 2 does a bit of a better job at that, thankfully, and also digs into the weapons we will find and be able to use around the wastes. All so we can be the best superhero we can be in a world that needs more heroes. At least it makes it seem like that even though heroes usually do not last long in this kind of world. That could be just how humans always see it though.
As mentioned, while the powers and abilities are gone over in this trailer, it is more about the weapons we will get to use in RAGE 2 more than anything. Weapons we have seen a bit before, only now we get to see them in better use and a bit more detail. All in a way that makes RAGE 2 look and feel a bit like Bulletstorm to me. I loved that title, so this is an amazing thing even if there is no scoring for the craziness that we can pull off in RAGE 2. Not as of yet at the very least. Maybe I have missed things here and in the past.
RAGE 2 — Wasteland Superhero
You’re not just Walker, the last Ranger. You’re a Wasteland Superhero!
Using your arsenal of powerful weapons and hi-tech nanotrite abilities, you’re going to wreak havoc on the baddies lurking throughout RAGE 2. While they are super powerful on their own, you’ll get maximum damage by pairing those weapons and abilities for crazy combos that will knock the socks off* (*absolutely obliterate) anyone that stands in your way. The Authority doesn’t stand a chance!
Rain destruction from above with Slam, a devastating ground-pound attack. The effectiveness of Slam is based on height; the higher up you are, the more powerful the Slam. Grab some air with a double-jump and smash your enemies into a chunky red paste.
When you absolutely need to get people out of your face, hit them with Shatter, a lethal kinetic blast that forces enemies away from you and sometimes just outright makes their heads explode.
Vortex lets you pull your enemies out of their comfort zone. Aim and toss Vortex near a crowd of enemies to yank them all toward one spot, leaving them primed for a well-timed grenade, rocket or other area-based attack.
Toss out your own portable shield with Barrier. Block incoming fire and instantly kill pretty much anything that comes into contact with your Barrier. A well-timed Barrier and Vortex combo will drag your enemies directly into your killer shield.
Those are just some of the abilities you can pick up, but between those four, Rush, Dash, Grav-Jump, Overdrive and more, you’ve got the makings for a master of the battlefield.
What are your thoughts on RAGE 2's powers and weapons that we all have here? Do you see the parallels to the other video game I mentioned here or am I just hoping for a sequel to that one too much? How do you think we will be able to string all the powers and weapons together once we have access to them all? Let everyone out there know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. As we find out more for RAGE 2, we will share it all here. All you need to do it keep checking back in on the site for it.
