The next game from Obsidian Entertainment has been teased and now we all know that it is coming at us in the way of The Outer Worlds. Well, maybe you knew that or maybe you did not before coming in here. You do know and that is the important part as many have been trying to figure out what they had up their sleeves since rumors started to circle. It is a new RPG game called The Outer Worlds that should be heading to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC when it is all wrapped up in development and using the talents of all of those who worked on parts of Fallout. You should at least know that game by now.
Direct details on The Outer Worlds are still a bit few and far, but as it all looks, we are going to be getting something that looks like a blending of Fallout and Borderlands with this new game in terms of theme. There will be more to it than that, I am sure, but the announcement trailer that we do have shows off both of those in a little more light. There is word that there will be a causality system in The Outer Worlds that will have both gameplay and story parts to it, but it is nothing more than the text we have below that describes it a little bit. Have a look and see what I am talking about just below.
The Outer Worlds — Announcement
In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
Is The Outer Worlds the game you were expecting to see out of Obsidian here or is it about what you expected? Do you think that it will be more than just a blending of the other two titles mentioned or will it boil down to just that to please fans? How deep do you think the flaws and choices will go or will they still be superficial in terms of what the teams what to do with the game? Let us all know out there and then feel free to discuss in the comments. For more on The Outer Worlds, be sure to keep coming back here. We will keep all of those updates coming at you as best and fast as we can.
