Here we go with the next of the “Behind The Odyssey!” for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This one takes us deeper into the combat of the game and gives us all a small look at how Ubisoft has taken what they did in Origins and moved everything a bit forward. I say a bit, as they did a great job before and I think they only need to make things fit better for the new characters and backgrounds they will have in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey compared to the last game. Something that looks like they have done well so far. We will know for certain on October 5th, but that is why we have these videos now.
Here we learn about some of the new maneuvers and skills we will unlock in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. There is also a nice bit on how these Spartans will be fighting and not using the tactics and style we all know them to have used in real history. Seeing as both are Spartan born but having been removed from that society at a young age is the idea behind it, I am still not sure about it all. At least if we remove the mythology and lore as to why Spartans are such strong fighters. Without that, it would make no difference where these characters were born and focus more on their training in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. I guess we will see the Spartans here do have the blood of Hercules running through their veins.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey — Combat Customization
Watch the second episode of “Behind The Odyssey!” In this episode, our developers discuss new combat innovations, custom fighting styles, and special abilities!
Combat and mythology aside, we also have a nice look at the other side of the box art for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. We will have the option to play as either character in the game and now it looks like Ubisoft will give us the option to make our game box reflect our selection. This is not the first game they have done this with, but it is nice to see that they have the tradition going when their game has multiple main characters we will be playing as. At least for those who are picking up a physical version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey when it does launch. The rest can just take the image and use it as they wish I guess.
Do you like the new additions we will be getting for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in terms of combat? Do you think that the removal from Spartan society is the correct reason to give as to why they do not fight with the tactics they are known for? Will you be playing as Kassandra in the game and will you be making your box reflect that choice now? Let us have those thoughts and feelings down in the comments and then feel free to discuss as you wish. For more updates on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, though, be sure to keep checking back in here as we will keep them all coming at you and you will want to know it all.
