It comes as no surprise, but we now have a release date for the announced New Game+ mode for God Of War. We heard about it a while back from Santa Monica Studio when they were talking about the Photo Mode, but now we know this will hit the PS4 on August 20th. At least for those who have completed one play through of God Of War already. It will only unlock at that point and that should not be too big of a surprise given the name and how the mode works in every other game out there. It will just be there for those who have already done so and then be waiting for those slackers who have yet to experience the game to its end.
As with every other New Game+ mode out there, it will allow you to replay God Of War with all of your gear and upgrades that you have earned along the way. It will also scale up equipment rarities and drops with another new resource to hunt down and collect along the way. To top all of that off, you will now be able to skip cut scenes in God Of War so you can try for those impressive speed runs that the franchise has had since its inception. At least for those who want to miss on the retelling of a great story we all had here. Have a look at the finer details of the mode just below.
With New Game+ comes along a host of new gear, more difficult enemies, and cinematic skipping!
Will this make you want to replay God Of War yet again or will it give you something to strive for in your first play? Do you think we will be able to blow through the whole game in relative quickness or will it still take the multiple hours it already does even without the cinematics? How much further do you think we will be able to push Kratos and Atreus in the New Game+ mode and will you just collect everything at that point? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If there is more to share for God Of War, know that we will share it all. Just be sure to keep checking back in on the site for all of those updates.
