Radical Heights Has Been Announced To Take Us Forward To The 80s

Radical Heights

Another battle royale title, Radical Heights, has been announced with Radical Heights adding an 80s flair to the genre with a few other gameplay changes

It did not seem to take long before Boss Key Productions moved on to their next title as we now have Radical Heights announced and coming to Early Access as early as tomorrow (4/10/18). Yea, some were thinking that this was something to come due to their last title not doing so well, but it looks like it was another passion project they were also working on for the last few months and are ready to get out there and build upon. Even though Radical Heights is going to have some steep competition right now as it is another Battle Royale title hopping into the pond with all of the others out there. As if that genre and market were not already getting flooded with titles and such. Either way, it is coming to Steam tomorrow and for the low price of Free. That is unless you want to pay for a Founder's Edition of it all and then you will be set back $14.99 USD.

As it has been put out there, Radical Heights will play host to a 100-player free-for-all set in a sunny SoCal dome in the year 2023. Even though the game is set in the not-too-distant-future, the whole game revolves around the flash and nostalgia of the 1980s as you play through the battle royale and also the action game show you are supposedly on. That is why it is all set in the future as this is the new form of entertainment and contestants can join in to win big cash prizes. In-game cash prizes at least. All of which can be spent to buy weapons and gear for future matches and exploration of Radical Heights. Of course, there will be the option to spend real-world cash on the game, but it is all going toward cosmetic changes and nothing that will alter the gameplay in a positive or negative way. No pay-to-win more or less.

Radical Heights — Reveal Gameplay Trailer

Welcome to Radical Heights, a free *X-TREME Early Access* Battle Royale shooter. Partake in high-stakes gunplay in a sunny SoCal dome as you loot for weapons, gadgets, cosmetics, and CASH that you take with you — win or lose! Survive to the end or risk it all in this irreverent action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous!

Whether you spend that cash on righteous customization in your personal prize room or decide to take it with you to purchase weapons early in the next game — building a wealth of cash is as important as taking down the competition in this irreverent 80s-themed action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous.

An interesting change-up to the formula with Radical Heights is the fact that you can back your in-game cash from match to match and do not need to spend it all on other things in-game. You can save it and then head off to vending machines in-game to pick up weapons and other items to get an advantage right from the start of the match. The takeaway from that being that you do not need to spend everything you earn in the match before moving on to the next. That could add an interesting twist to the core gameplay we know for battle royale games, but we will not know until we all head out there and give Radical Heights a solid shot. It is free to try at least and then you can choose to spend money on the Founder's Pack. It is all up to you.

What do you think about Radical Heights as it all stands right now? DO you think it will be another great addition to the battle royale genre or will it get lost in the mix like many others who are looking to cash in on the current popularity? Do you think being able to carry in-game cash over between matches will be a good thing or will it be ignored by many players? Let us know what you think about all of this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we get more for Radical Heights, we will share it all here on the site. Be sure to keep checking back in so you know you are getting to see it all.
