Egress Is Announced To Bring A Souls-Like Battle Royale To Us

Egress

Add another battle royale game to the genre as we have Egress announced here with Egress also coming sometime in 2018

It looks like the saturation of the Battle Royale genre is coming as we now have Egress announced and coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2018. At least as it has been announced so far from Fazan Games out there here recently. Of course Egress is not going to be just another in the genre in general, it will house a few different features from other games and genres out there to try to mix things up. Like a combat system that is very reminiscent of Dark Souls for starters. You know, because if it was not already hard trying to survive in a Battle Royale game, now we need to add in a system that is already being touted as one of the most difficult to master.

In addition to that, Egress will also be set in a universe inspired by the Victorian Era, Lovecraft's mythology, and Retrowave. You can see how that all looks in the following trailer here which does make it look interesting. As long as the different heroes we can select and their abilities blend in well, it can work and frustrate players all over the world. I am not sold based on just that, but there will be a beta at some point for Egress to give us a chance to look at it all deeper. You can currently sign up for that over on the game's Steam page. Now word on when that will kick off though.

What are your thoughts on Egress based on what we have here to look at for the game? Do you think that having an RPG and Souls-like combat system will shake up the Battle Royale play or will it hinder us in fun? Does it seem weird to state a battle royale but have the ability to team up in a game mode, as usually it is a free-for-all kind of thing? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. If we get more for Egress, we will have it here. Keep checking back in to stay up to date and see how this game finally pans out this year.
