The second episode of Batman: The Enemy Within is a week out from now and it is time to have a nice little sneak peek at just what may be going on in the story at this point. I am not talking about a recap of what happened before, but where Telltale Games is taking it all in this new episode titled The Pact. Not only that, but it also give a better look at a few of the other Batman villains that we already knew were going to show up in the game, but also at a few others that we may not have known about. All teased for now, but October 3rd is not that far off and we can speculate on everything for a few more days until we see them in action.
Obviously, this trailer holds a few spoilers for those holding out for Batman: The Enemy Within or who want to be fully surprised when the story unfolds. Take that into mind before watching the new video and then continuing down below where it will be discussed. You have been warned and now it is all up to you.
Batman: The Enemy Within — The Pact
The death of a villain at the hands of a mysterious assassin was just the beginning. As explosions rock Gotham, Batman races to meet a new foe, but encounters a force that may cause even the Dark Knight to fall. In the guise of the billionaire, Bruce meets John Doe's 'friends' and becomes enmeshed in a plot where the only way out is to go deeper in. But at what cost?
First, obviously, we knew that Harley Quinn was going to be showing up in Batman: The Enemy Within. Specifically this episode at that as images of her have already been out there for almost a month now and it is hard to not have seen those. It also looks like she may have more of a lead role here that we are used to as technically The Joker is not even a thing yet in this Gotham. Maybe she is more tied into the other villain that we have teased here in the way of Bane. At least that sounds and looks a bit like Bane, but given that none of the traditional things that we have seen in his past encounters with Batman, we cannot be completely certain on that as of yet.
It also looks like there is going to be another huge deviation from Batman lore here in this episode as it looks like Bruce will need to join into the villain's ranks and work his way up. Not something that is traditionally done at all, but it makes a bit of sense so he can get all the required information that would be needed. I am just curious on how he hides the fact of who he is to keep things separated a bit more. It would be weird to see Bruce Wayne all friends like with these villains and have them know who he is while doing all these horrible things. It could also just be how the episode of Batman: The Enemy Within branches. Only Telltale Games knows for now…
What are your thoughts on this episode of Batman: The Enemy Within as it looks so far? Do you agree that this is Bane getting added into the mix here or could it be someone else who just happens to look a bit like him and sound as he traditionally does? Could all of these be different paths in the game or will we be forced to play out some of them to continue the story in general? Give us all of those thoughts and then discuss down in the comments. There will be a lot more for Batman: The Enemy Within in the future and we will be here to catch it all. Keep an eye on the site to make sure you see it all too.
