Batman
The first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within has been released just in time to show us how dark this new season for Batman will be here
With Batman: The Enemy Within's first episode dropping this week, I guess it is a good time to have a look at the latest trailer for the episode and see just what we could be in store for the whole ride. If anything, just what Telltale Games may have for us in the first installment of this continuation of the altered universe cannon we've had so far. Seeing as the first season's choices for Batman will be carried over and they did a few things that the comics have yet to do, I'm going to just assume this is all non-cannon for the official comic line. Even though they do grab from some great places to make the characters a bit more interesting than we've had in a while.
Anyways, as it was first announced, The Riddler is here and causing hell for Batman and Gotham and we need to help Bats go out there and stop all of these death traps that are being set up out there. It is like Jigsaw if you added in a bit of humor with the madness. Just the right kind of mix that I like when it comes to my sadistic trap makers. Although it does look like this may only be one of the side villains here in Batman: The Enemy Within as there is a lot more of a build up for The Joker again and that is always the path everyone goes here. Sadly, but maybe they will get a better twist on it all to make that a character I can love again.
Batman: The Enemy Within — The Enigma
In this latest chapter, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman's new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?
Another interesting thing to see here, besides Amanda Waller showing up, is that Telltale Games is pointing right at one of the aspects of Batman that I love; it all has to do with insanity of some kind. This is what has always made his villains and stories so amazing to me and when you look at it all, ever character in the franchise has a form of insanity or madness that defines them. It is this level of darkness for the characters that blends so well into the Batman setting that makes it all about people with true issues besides wanting to rule the world or have all the money in it. Although there are a few of those in the rogue's gallery in Gotham; it just rings a great bell with me.
Are you fully ready for this season of Batman: The Enemy Within to start up or are you super ready for it to start up? Do you think that The Riddler will stay the villain over the whole season or will he only be here for the first episode and then become a background villain? Do you think that they will keep changing up The Joker here or will he fall back into the form that we have seen time and time again? Let everyone know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For more on Batman: The Enemy Within as the season progresses, be sure to stick right here on the site. We'll have it all as we go and I know I'm excited to see where it all goes from here.
