The Evil Within
A new bit of gameplay for The Evil Within 2 has been released as well as the pre-order bonuses for The Evil Within 2 to help us along
It looks as if all of the teasing for The Evil Within 2 has been put off and now we are going to get some solid new looks at the game as we head toward October 13th here. At least for now as it looks like Bethesda has for us a new look at the work that Tango Gameworks has done with a new gameplay trailer. Well, in-game trailer as it doesn't look like much of the mechanics of The Evil Within 2 are being shown here but more of the general look and feel of some of the actions to be taken in the game. There is what looks like a stealth kill in here, but none of the screen prompts or useful information to actually pull it off in game. That wouldn't be as exciting to see here at all as that stuff does seem to distract from it all in the end.
If we look past all of that though, we do get a nice look at one of the core aspects that will be driving The Evil Within 2 and that is the role of parent we didn't get to see too much of a focus on from Sebastian before. I mean, he believed his kid was dead until now and that wasn't the big focus until now. In this new trailer though, it looks a lot like the exact opposite of it all. In fact, it looks like we may even get to play a bit of The Evil Within 2 as the daughter here or at least see a bit of it all play out from her perspective. As long as we don't have a forced escort mission where she is useless, I'll be completely behind all of it all. It worked well in Resident Evil 4 so it could work really well here too.
In addition to all of the new footage, it looks like we also have the list of pre-order bonuses for The Evil Within 2 too. It doesn't look like there is any specific restrictions by platform or location to pick up the game early, which is good, but it doesn't really do much to add in here. Maybe that was the idea Tango Gameworks had here as they all basically add in some extra crafting and healing items from the start of The Evil Within 2. It is at least something as a "thank you" from Bethesda for those who secured their copy early I guess. Just not much to sing praises and push those on the edge over to the side of making the purchase just yet.
