Theseus
The VR experience Theseus now has a release date for the PS VR version and we will soon join Theseus on this new adventure
I hope you are ready to get back into the Greek stories as Theseus now has a release date for the PS VR version of the game. Strangely enough it is for this platform and not the Oculus or Vive version, but I'll take it for now as Forge Reply looks to have a fun and terrifying experience coming to us. Hopefully you have your PS4 and PS VR ready as Theseus will be there on July 26th. That's a pretty short turn around since it was only announced to be coming to the platform about a month ago. This is how it should all be, but we can't all live in a perfect world of video games out there.
If you are still behind on Theseus up to now, the game and not the Greek hero, this is a re-imagining of the original tale of the titular character in a third person VR experience. He awakes in the middle of a maze and only has the help of Ariadne to make it out while dodging all of the horrors the maze has to offer. This includes the Minotaur that Theseus has defeated before, but now we get to go along for the ride and join it all. It really looks like a very dark version of God Of War in a VR setting. I will totally take it and use it to pass the time until next year for the other title.
Have a look at the launch trailer for Theseus now and see what I am talking about. The go out and pick it up and get all of your VR gear ready to hop into this retelling of the age old tale. I know I am insanely excited to see just how Forge Reply has handled all of this and is giving us a new way to play it all.
Theseus — Launch Trailer
Escape a horrifyingly reimagined greek legend in PS VR’s Theseus, releasing on 26th July.
In Theseus, our protagonist awakens alone, stranded in a hostile and mysterious place. With Ariadne’s voice as his only guide, players will venture deep into the heart of the Labyrinth to unveil the truth hiding behind its mysteries. But our protagonist is not alone. The mighty Minotaur is the ruler of this world, and you are not a welcomed visitor.
What are your thoughts on Theseus as it all stands at this point? Do you agree it looks like a very dark and horror filled version of God Of War or is that a wrong way to look at it all? Will this help sell you on any of those great VR deals going on or will you still be waiting? Let us know and then feel free to discuss it all down in the comments. As we learn anything new for Theseus, we will bring it to you. Be sure to keep an eye on the site for all of those updates and more in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. Maybe even decades…
