We just past the first Friday The 13th of the year and while Friday The 13th: The Game did officially release on the date there, that doesn't mean that Gun Media didn't have something to share out to the world to celebrate the date and its correlation to the game and franchise. How was this all done? Well it was done with the announcement of The Misfits song for the franchise is now mixed into the game and can be heard on the campground radios during matches to distract Jason. That and the fact that Illfonic has a new Jason for the game in terms of the Part Six version of the character. Not only in visuals but also in a few new mechanics for the player of Jason in Friday The 13th: The Game.
It's not new that ranged weapons can be used in Friday The 13th: The Game but here we have our first use of it with Jason as this version comes with his own throwing knives to hunt down the counselors at the camp. He also comes with a spear of sorts instead of the traditional machete to add some extra range to his melee attacks but the focus here is mainly that Jason now has some range. Although from the following gameplay it looks like it also has all of the real-world physics to worry about as it isn't as easy as point and click like the shotgun is already. I'm just curious to see what the maximum range on it all truly is though or if Jason can hurl a blade even further than a normal being just because he is Jason and such.
Have a look at the new gameplay showing off the new character for Friday The 13th: The Game and see just how the throwing knives work out when in the hands of the developers. Not only does it look very effective, they are also used in such a way that I think no player would be able to luck out with and would need to script the whole set up and kill. You'll see what I'm talking about as soon as the main kill pops off there.
