Styx: Shards Of Darkness Is Almost Here To Teach The Art Of Stealth

Styx

A new cinematic trailer for Styx: Shards Of Darkness has released and it shows off a bit of Styx's stealth tactics and mayhem he can create in the process

We are all still waiting for a solid release date for Styx: Shards Of Darkness as March is still the only part of the date still set out there but that doesn't mean that the videos and fun have to stop. Of course not and that is just what Cyanide Studios has brought us here yet again for the game with a new trailer aimed to highlight the thing we know Styx is good at; Stealth. I mean, his last title was named Master Of Shadows and with a name like that, not to mention how the game actually played, stealth was his strong suit and I know I was able to put it to some amazing use from start until the end. Now we get to focus on all of that yet again here when Focus Home Interactive finally brings the game to our systems.

Unlike the other videos we have for Styx: Shards Of Darkness though, this one doesn't seem to be a gameplay breakdown to show us all of the cool stuff he could do from before and can now do in the new game. Not that I said gameplay though as this is a cinematic trailer that totally still shows off all of that in motion here as well as some really cool looks at just how some of the powers would look outside of the forced perspective in the game as well as the limitation of it all not being pre-rendered visuals. We're not too far off from that being the standard in video games, but for now this is where we are at and what we get to experience as we wait for Styx: Shards Of Darkness to finally come on out.

Styx: Shards Of Darkness — Art Of Stealth

As a nimble Goblin, Styx’s strengths are boosted by a magical Amber flowing through his veins, granting him a plethora of magical abilities such as amber vision, short-lived invisibility, and even the ability to clone himself. In addition, Shards of Darkness introduces crafting, allowing Styx to create tools and gadgets to distract, disable, and kill his foes.

I know this is all cinematic in terms of showing off Styx: Shards Of Darkness but if this is any real indication of what can occur in game then it looks like we will be able to take chaos to an all new high in the game that wasn't there in the previous game. At least in terms of the masterful set up and execution as we could do a few minor things in Master Of Shadows but given the new abilities we get to see here it looks like things have truly stepped up. I think I'll be completely let down if there isn't a part of the game that has us set up a mass execution in game by setting traps and lures to bring all of the guards into one spot. This could just be wishful thinking for Styx: Shards Of Darkness but Cyanide Studios hasn't let me down yet with this IP so I have some high hopes.

Do you think that Styx: Shards Of Darkness has raised the stealth game in the franchise here or just really added a few features that we will most likely ignore? Do you think that we will get to do the massive setups like we see here or is that all just part of the promotion for the game and nothing more? What day do you think it will finally release on when all is said and done? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments and then discuss. For more on Styx: Shards Of Darkness though, be sure to stick right here as we'll keep bringing all of the fun news and updates we can swipe as we get closer to the launch date for the game. Don't miss out.
