We Need To Head Back To Arkham In Batman: The Telltale Series' Last Episode

Batman

The final episode of Batman: The Telltale Series' first season is here and we get to join Batman as he heads back into Arkham to save Gotham yet again

Today is the day as Batman: The Telltale Series' actions and events all come to a head with the final episode of the season releasing. It sure has been one insane ride through the new take on the franchise that Telltale Games has given us and I know that I have been mostly impressed so far. Especially given my views on the character and all of the villains that he takes on in every comic, show, and film. Now we get to see how this all ends and we build up for the most likely Batman: The Telltale Series season two. I think it would shock me more to see that a second season wasn't coming for this IP at this point.

What also brings us here today is that we have a new launch trailer for this new episode to get us ready to become Batman yet again. Or Bruce if that is how you want to play it most of the time. None the less, it looks like it is going to be a rough road to walk in terms of the story and not all of us will be starting from the same spot as each other. If you've been playing episode by episode then you know that we could have had a few different ways to have tackled and ended the last episode. That is where we will be starting here and we won't be forced back into place by a narrative again. I am interested to see how this will all play out.

Batman: The Telltale Series — City Of Light

In Episode 5, the leader of the Children of Arkham prepares to execute the final act of a plan to destroy the Wayne family name, and the people closest to you are in their path of vengeance. Can Batman's ultimate secret be kept - his very identity - when it is causing chaos and death in Gotham? The fate of the Wayne family and of the city itself rests on your choices. What will you do? How far will you go? Which mask will you wear?

Special note for the finale: Players will begin this episode in very different places depending on where they chose to go in the third act of Episode 4.

By watching the above trailer I can see where things will get back on the same path from the previous branching but I also see a lot of things that have never happened in my play of Batman: The Telltale Series. I know that Telltale Games can't leave everything completely open-ended due to the nature of the medium here but I do see a lot more of the choices we made taking affect here than in some of their previous titles. I think Batman has to be showing the most choices making a difference so far even though a lot of them seem forced to push the story along. I guess we'll see if that stays true or alters when the new episode becomes available for download today.

Do you see many differences here in the latest trailer for Batman: The Telltale Series than in your play through or is it on the same path? Do you think that we will start out in a different place as stated but then be forced down the same path or will they keep it as fluid as we think? Do you think that we will see a second season or will things go the way of Tales From The Borderlands and we won't hear a thing even though it is an amazing title? Let us know your thoughts on it all and feel free to discuss in the comments below.
