It looks like the good news for Friday The 13th: The Game just keeps rolling out as it looks like we have a new option for Jason and a new counselor being added into the mix now. This time Illfonic has crafted as perfect of a rendition of Jason from the 6th film in the franchise as they could based on everything that Gun Media could get together to replicate it all. Not only that but it also looks like we have yet another counselor added in for the full roster of Friday The 13th. Hopefully there will be more before the final release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
First on the docket here is the new Jason from Friday The 13th: Part 6. Another really cool version of the character getting added in as an option to stalk and murder with in the game. What is so interesting about this version of the character is that the development team had to make up and extrapolate some of the looks and feels of the character as the original versions and footage have been lost or never truly showed Jason in his fullest. Or at least a clean look of it so artistic license had to be taken. You can see the concept of the character just a bit lower down now.
Friday The 13th: Part 6 marks the first appearance of undead Jason in the films. It was an important moment in the franchise, and now we're doing our damnedest to recreate him for Friday The 13th: The Game. Soon you'll be able to get up close and personal with the man behind the mask.
This Jason model was particularly tough to get right due to the lack of high-res reference images and full body shots with the undermask/makeup. Thanks to many of our partners, cohorts and fans, we've been able to accurately construct Jason to the highest level of detail possible. Hopefully we've helped do our part to preserve a piece of horror and pop culture history!
Now that we have a new Jason it is time to see a new counselor for Friday The 13th: The Game and here we go with the Rocker Chick. Or A.J. Mason if you want to be on a first name basis with the kid you are going to kill. She is one of the few characters that has a high Composure and Stealth stat which means that she will be able to get past Jason without freaking out or being noticed. Of course that sounds great but I'm guessing that her other stats will be too low for her to rebuild a car or fix a broken phone line. Just more on why teaming up will be a winning option in the game here.
What do you think about the new characters and skins coming to Friday The 13th: The Game? Are you glad that Illfonic was able to get the Jason from part 6 working? Do you think you'll be playing more or less of the Rocker Chick when it comes to the counselors? Let us know what you are thinking down in the comments and discuss. For more on Friday The 13th: The Game as it bleeds out there be sure to stay right here as we'll keep bringing you all of the updates that we can get out of Gun Media and the rest.
