So Much Multiplayer Is Coming To Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call Of Duty

The big reveal for Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare's multiplayer modes has occurred as well as a nice look at Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare's remastered version

It is no huge surprise that Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare has a multiplayer mode added into the mix for it. I think it would have been more shocking for Infinity Ward to announce there wouldn't be a multiplayer mode in the game. We know that Activision will never let that happen to a Call Of Duty title so I doubt it will ever happen but that isn't why we are here right now. There will be a multiplayer mode in the game again and now we have the official reveal and a bit of a breakdown of what is new and what is old coming to us on November 11th. Or October 14th for those playing on the PS4 and not the Xbox One or PC.

Right out of the gate we have a nice flashy video showing off matches that we'll never see in Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare on our own but it is a fun way to see how the game could play. It also shows us quite a few things that look "borrowed" from other IPs out there that have been added in to keep it all feeling new for us. It is hard work to make a tried and true gameplay set up feel new over the many years so we were bound to see some overlap like calling in "mechanical fighters" or summoning up black holes to destroy our enemies.

Now that we are all pumped up for the multiplayer here in the next Call Of Duty, let's get into a bit more of the nitty gritty. It looks like combat rigs have been brought in here to keep each of the soldiers we are taking over to feel new and unique. For once I see that there truly will be some load-outs that "fit my play style" in these rigs as that is something that is always quoted but never seems to happen in these multiplayer games. Of course that is all word from Infinity Ward and not me actually playing the game but it does sound promising for this version of Call Of Duty.

It also looks like the team and franchise is taking a true attempt at giving us a way to customize our weapons; and I'm not just talking skins and colors. It looks like we are going to get to "build" prototype weapons in Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare's multiplayer over time and play. Only one is truly defined below but it allows us to have actual gameplay effects and not just cosmetic here. How the team will keep all of that balanced in the back-end will be a true sign of their abilities but we'll have to wait and see just how all of that plays out. Pun intended.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare — Multiplayer Overview

Last up here is a short look at the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer mode that will be coming with that title as well. I'm not completely sure why Activision is going to bank on players going back to this version of the multiplayer mode given all of the additions that have been described above but it is something that is being brought back besides the campaign mode. I'm going to go on a limb and say that all of the mechanics and modes from before are going to stay the same as the following video only showcases the visual upgrades but maybe there will be something new…
