Agony
A new survival horror game called Agony aims to take us on a trip through Hell without being Agony in its self
If you were left wanting for another video game where we travel to Hell and need to survive then hold onto your asses as we have Agony now in the works and heading to us for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2017. While it may not be another Dante's Inferno for us it does look like Madmind Studios is crafting something on the levels of and beyond with this new survival horror title. That's right. Not only is Agony another "escape from Hell" style of game but it is also a survival horror title so hopefully that means that we are going to get some true nightmares out of all of it. We are going to Hell here after all.
While there is no solid gameplay for Agony just yet we do have a bunch of screenshots and a nice little trailer showing off what the team is aiming for here. It also looks like we are not going to be just some basic soul out in the wilds of Hell but we will also have a few extra abilities mixed in. Like the ability to possess the minds of other souls out there as well as a few of the lower level demons out there. Not a bad little parlor trick to have when wading through the dead and "evil" souls of Hell.
Agony — Intro
Agony is a first-person survival horror game currently in development. Players will begin their journey as tormented soul within the depths of hell without any memories about his past.
The special ability to control people on their path, and even possess simple minded demons, gives the player the necessary measures to survive in the extreme conditions they are in.
By exploring hostile environment and interacting with the other weary souls of the hellscape, the hero will soon understand that there is only one way to escape from Hell, and it will require a meeting of the mystical Red Goddess.
I am a bit lost as to where Madmind Studios is going with the location and its inhabitants here though. Maybe Agony is going down some other mythology path in terms of the named location but while there are demons mixed in here there is only mention to the Red Goddess and not Satan or the like. Granted there are many mythologies that have similar stories and location descriptions like this but it does look like they are going with the traditional Christian mythology here but with a different ruler of Hell. Maybe this would be the right hand or bride of Satan? We'll find out in due time I am certain.
