While I personally would not be up in arms if the 50 Cent game never saw the light of day, I can't pretend to be so nonchalant with the news of Ghostbusters. I highly doubt that this game has been canned. Anyone who attended this years Comic Con can tell you that [Activision went out of their way to promote this game with a massive booth, dozens of Ghostbuster cosplayers, panels with the movie's and game's stars, even playable demos. I got a free t-shirt, they don't give those out for just anything.
But the future of Activision Blizzard isn't entirely bleak for fans of their franchises. Activision CEO, Mike Griffith is excited about the new direction the company will take:
"We are very excited to add such recognizable and successful brands as Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age and Spyro, which reinforce our leadership position in movie-based and family entertainment video games". They also made mention of Prototype and a "second game that has not yet been announced".
