The Division
The season pass for The Division has been announced and offers up gamers three major expansions for The Division post-launch as well as other goodies
The beta for The Division is now fully underway and it looks like there are going to be some extras to be able to get for those who fall in love with the game based on just this beta. Of course these won't be free extras as that isn't usually the case with games like this or out of Ubisoft but a whole bunch of extras in the way of a Season Pass for The Division. That or you can see it as three different expansion packs for the game that will be released after the main title hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8th. As if you didn't think The Division was going to get DLC or a Season Pass…
As of right now there is no price on the Season Pass for The Division or each of the paid expansions that will be coming post launch but we do have a bit of a world on what two of the three will hold. The first one looks to bring you and your crew back together to try and reclaim New York in the game's world. The second sounds like a bunch of survival maps that will just throw wave after wave of enemies at you in The Division. That one sounds like it should be more on the free side of the updates but maybe there is more to it than Ubisoft has released so far. We can hope.
Here's everything that will be picked up in the Season Pass of The Division. As a word of note, the Season Pass will also be included in the Gold Edition and the Sleeper Agent Edition of the game so it will only cost those with the basic version a little more on the tail end to get the full experience. As was to be assumed.
- Expansion I: Underground — This first major expansion opens up a new area to players as they explore the uncharted underworld of New York City with up to 3 friends for intense co-op action.
- Expansion II: Survival — In this expansion, players will have to survive as long as possible in a very hostile environment that will challenge even the most talented agents.
- Expansion III: Last Stand — Stay tuned for more information.
- Exclusive sawn-off shotgun
- Unique sidearm customized for short-range destruction
- Set of exclusive outfits and weapon skins
- Access to special monthly benefits including exclusive content drops and special events
That is all of the paid content headed to The Division post launch but it would be a bit of a disservice if you were not informed that Ubisoft did have plans for updates in terms of Free Stuff. Of course it has only been outlined in terms of a few minor gameplay tweaks and modes to allow for more group-oriented challenges but there will be something new for The Division on a regular basis to keep the more frugal gamers out there wanting to come back into the online open-world that has been crafted. Hopefully they don't just stop a month or two out from launch.
How do you feel about these paid expansions for The Division that are planned? Are you tired of not getting a full game out of the gate and having to purchase expansions down the road? Are you enjoying The Division's beta so much now that you don't can and are willing to throw all your cash at the game's future? Let us know and discuss in the comments below. As we get further updates from Ubisoft on The Division we will have them here on the site. Be on the lookout for those in hopefully the near future and beyond.
