Homefront

An online co-op mode for Homefront: The Revolution has been shown off and the first details of Homefront's new missions based co-op mode have also surfaced with it

Our first look at Homefront: The Revolution's online co-op mode called "Resistance Mode" has finally come. It isn't a huge shock that Dambuster Studios was going to add a multiplayer mode into Homefront here but now we have a nice little look at how some of the 12 missions for the game will play out. That of course being 12 missions just for the online co-op as the full version of Homefront: The Revolution hitting the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 17th is slated to hold a massive 30 hours of solo gameplay to be enjoyed.

For the most part these new missions for Homefront: The Revolution that are to be played co-op are aimed toward helping players perfect their "game" and level up but it also sounds like there is a bit more to it. There is no word on if things will carry over to the solo play or only stay online but as you "rank up" in these co-op missions for Homefront you will be unlocking new skills, earn weapon blueprints, rare equipment, and combat gear to upgrade. The basic assumption would be that this would stay only for the online bit of Homefront: The Revolution but it could translate on over with ease if you think about it.

Homefront: The Revolution — Freedom Fighters

"Homefront: The Revolution is this team's most ambitious project yet," said Hasit Zala, game director at Dambuster Studios. "In addition to our epic 30-plus hour single-player campaign, we expect to launch Resistance Mode with 12 Missions, packed with re-playability, and hope to release another 20 Missions within the first year. To ensure our community can always play together, all Resistance Mode Missions will be free to download."

Currently there is a beta for Homefront: The Revolution's "Resistance Mode" slated for the Xbox One between February 11th and 14th. In addition to that there is also a closed beta stress test for the Homefront servers, also for Xbox One only, which runs from January 29th to February 5th. To gain access to the later beta all you need to have is an Xbox One and the time. For the beta that starts at the end of the week you need to be a currently registered member of the Homefront community and be invited in. You'd think it would be the other way around but who knows?

Are you ready to head online with Homefront: The Revolution in this new co-op mode? Are you as surprised as I am that there will be a 30+ hour single player campaign in the game? Are you an Xbox One user who will be taking part in one or both of these betas for Homefront: The Revolution? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As we gather more intel on Homefront from Deep Silver we will have it up on the site for you. Be sure to keep your emergency warning channels pointed here for all of those updates.
