If there wasn't already enough Rise Of The Tomb Raider news this week, we have more for the game. Especially for those of you out there who wanted a better and harder challenge from Crystal Dynamics here on your Xbox 360 or Xbox One. This challenge of course being Rise Of The Tomb Raider's new Endurance mode DLC that can be downloaded right now for the low price of $9.99. Of course that is if you didn't pick up the Rise Of The Tomb Raider Season Pass when you made the purchase. Season pass holders can download for no charge as of right now as well.
What is Endurance Mode though? It is a new mode for Rise Of The Tomb Raider that pits Lara against the harsh world that has been crafted by Crystal Dynamics. She is thrust into the harsh environment of the world with nothing except the basics. From there Lara, or you, has to survive with only her skills, crafting, and hunting that you hopefully already perfected in Rise Of The Tomb Raider. The reason for this of course is to see how long you can survive in the environment before Lara meets an untimely demise. All so you can post your time and challenge your buddies to do better. Or yourself for that matter.
If you were holding out to purchase this DLC for Rise Of The Tomb Raider until you could see it in action then you are also in luck as you can see just that a little lower down the page. Hells, you can see where this player went wrong and try to best them in the leaderboards that have been set up by Square Enix for this mode. None the less it is a new way to play Rise Of The Tomb Raider for those who have already mastered the game so far. I wonder how long before we see someone last indefinitely in this new mode. I'm sure there are some masters out there already.
Rise Of The Tomb Raider — Endurance Mode
Alone and in the wild, Lara must scrounge, scavenge, craft and survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies, both man and beast, by night. This is her ultimate woman-versus-wild test to push the limits of how long she can survive on her own in sprawling, unforgiving landscapes. Fire takes fuel, cold kills the unprepared, food restores health, but everything must be caught, collected, or crafted. You start with nothing and must find everything. Challenge friends to your longest survival run and battle to the top of the leaderboards for the title of Ultimate Survivor. Includes a new outfit and weapon.
