The Park

New screenshots for The Park have been released and they show off a few new characters and environments that we will be exploring in The Park

Well look there. We have some new screenshots for The Park and they really show off the horror aspect that Funcom is aiming for in this new PC title they have coming this October. Based on the descriptions given for each it looks like they are really trying to drive home that "parent's worst nightmare" aspect here in The Park. Based on the image of Lorraine here, that is the protagonist of The Park, it looks like she is in for one hell of a night as she goes into rooms like the one she is in with people hanging from meat hooks and most likely cryptic notes about where her kid is in The Park.

As all we have to go on are the descriptions given for these new screenshots for The Park, I'll try to break them down so you can get the same feel. It looks like the guy that walked out of Nightmare Before Christmas here is some mysterious figure that is haunting the grounds of Atlantic Island Park. That is the amusement park that The Park takes place in. The last image talks about how some of the rides come to life on their own so I would venture the guess that Funcom is going to be creating experiences around our own worst fears in the ride in The Park all based on real world fears. What would you do if the bumper cars had a mind of their own?

Sadly this is all we have in terms of updates for The Park here. It does look like Lorraine here is going to be going down the same path as we do in other horror titles that don't give you an option to fight back with. This is of course based on the fact that none of these new shots for The Park show anyone with weapons, at least on the hero side of the fence. That could change based on what else Funcom shows off for the game but that is how I see it here. I just hope we get some solid gameplay for The Park before we head into October here. I need more reasons to get excited to use my PC for gaming again.
