Looks like all of you Star Wars Battlefront fanatics are getting a 'beta test' for Star Wars Battlefront that you've been begging for
It looks like all of you who have been begging for a Star Wars Battlefront beta are getting what you asked for. There is now a Star Wars Battlefront 'beta' scheduled and looking to give us all a taste of DICE's title on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this October. Early October from what has been talked about on EA's official news site for Star Wars Battlefront. See what persistent fandom can force developers and publishers to do? Good on you all as the beta is coming for Star Wars Battlefront and there are a few sparse details handed out. Poor joke given the Luke Skywalker thing huh?
Before you get all ant-in-the-pants about a Star Wars Battlefront beta coming it is worth noting that it is going to be more of a technical test according to EA. So like all other early access 'betas' out there it will really be a Star Wars Battlefront Stress Test to make sure that DICE has made the code efficient enough to handle the 40-player battles and everyone trying to play as Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker in said combats. At least in one of the major modes that have been stated to be in the Star Wars Battlefront 'beta'. Here's a better listing of what will be available out of Star Wars Battlefront in the 'beta'.
Coming early October to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Origin for PC, the Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire. Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The Beta will also feature our Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces.
In addition to those two modes, we are excited to reveal a brand-new mode that will be available in the Beta, Drop Zone. We'll be sharing more details on Drop Zone in the weeks ahead.
Along with the above 'beta' for Star Wars Battlefront it looks like EA is also pumping out a companion app for the game as well. It will house a card game of sorts that will allow players to gain Star Wars Battlefront in-game currency, weapons, and Star Cards. It will also allow you to track stats and all of the other basic stuff that these second screen experiences allow for. Just with the Star Wars Battlefront theme wrapped around it all. All of which slated to be available on the Apple Store or Google Play sometime before Star Wars Battlefront is officially released. Even more of a head start from DICE here.
What are your feelings on all of this for Star Wars Battlefront? Did you want to have a beta for the game or just some kind of early access? Will you be signed up to help DICE test there servers or are you going to leave that to other gamers out there? Let us know in the comments and let the discussion flow. We will have more on the Star Wars Battlefront 'beta' as stated by EA above so be sure to check in and check in often for more on the beta and all other things Star Wars Battlefront before November 17th.
