Back at the PlayStation Experience What Remains Of Edith Finch was announced by Giant Sparrow and Santa Monica Studios. You may have missed it as it wasn't a huge deal back when it happened and there wasn't all too much to show and talk about outside of the new game coming to the PS4. Game announcements go like that mostly and What Remains Of Edith Finch has had little to nothing to show until now. Now being that we have a look at the first location for the game as the core mechanics of What Remains Of Edith Finch makes it difficult to show off much more without getting into gameplay demos and such.
Wait. What does that mean? I am sure you are thinking that right now but What Remains Of Edith Finch is a game full of short stories. Short stories that Giant Sparrow are aiming to have a whole different feel between each given the drastic differences between each of the members of the Finch family. Hence why we only have a quick little look at the house for What Remains Of Edith Finch where it sounds like the core of the game will take place. Each story being linked to a different room or section of this house built by the eccentric members who have died over the years and all of the contents they happened to leave behind. That is how things will unfold in the game.
What Remains Of Edith Finch — House Introduction Trailer
After watching the above trailer here for What Remains Of Edith Finch I think I see what Giant Sparrow is looking to do here and it looks like it could be one hells of a fun story to play through. Especially if they are able to make each new room or location feel like it is a different game world all encapsulated in What Remains Of Edith Finch. Quite an undertaking and I hope that it truly pans out when we finally get to play it in 2016. Well at least play the final version as it has been stated that What Remains Of Edith Finch will be on the floor of E3 here in under a month.
I know I am going to be looking back at the above trailer a few more times to see what else I can unearth for What Remains Of Edith Finch and wait until we get some good gameplay and or future story bits to latch on to. I love a good, twisted story and I think What Remains Of Edith Finch will be able to deliver something right up that alley of gaming and storytelling here.
