Brawl Has An Update From Bloober Team…With Gameplay

Remember Basement Crawl from earlier this year? The creepy take on Bomberman… No? Well that makes sense as it was a title so poorly built that the developer Bloober Team asked everyone not to review it until the issues were fixed. Then the game was scrapped and re-branded as Brawl. Sounds more or less like they just shortened the title to combine the original title just as this version of the game contains the same core gameplay of Basement Crawl. At least that is what is to be assumed until we received this little update for Brawl.

Below you will find a nice little gameplay trailer for Brawl that is slated to show off all of the updates that Bloober Team have made to the original title to try and make up for the earlier faults. At least that is the hope from them and all of us who paid to give Brawl.0 a try. That would be Basement Crawl. Let's have a look at how Brawl has evolved and what lessons the team has learned from the horrible launch earlier this year.

Brawl — Gameplay Trailer

So Brawl looks like pretty much the same game to me. The levels look to be expanded as well as the character roster but that is about it. To be honest the only thing I thought we would need in Brawl that wasn't in Basement Crawl was a better match making system as that is what made the game unplayable before. Then again if this is showing off a single player mode of sorts then I guess that would be an update as no matter what Brawl could have at least that mode be playable even if the multiplayer sucks donkey balls.

I'm willing to give Brawl a chance as I like the core concept and art style but I'd be lying if I was blinding giving my trust to the team again. A year of extra development could have done quite a bit for the game but we will always remember the failed attempt to launch in 2014. At least those of us who remember Brawl under the original title and not the new and improved one.
