In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy… until now. Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line being science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive. |
So crazies and supernaturals. Like we haven't seen or played that before. I do have to say I am a bit interested in seeing how the camera viewport is going to be used in the game. At least from the trailer it looks like it could be more than just being able to see the glowing eyes of hidden horrors/inmates. I'm sure we will get more on all of that soon.
I do have to say I am a bit intrigued by what I've seen. I am a sucker for a good insane asylum story and setting. Especially those that use all the archaic remedies and tactics on the poor souls. I only wish that it wasn't slated for PC only currently. Who knows, it could be huge and garner the capital to move it to consoles or in the very least for me to finally upgrade and move into PC gaming. Time will tell. Either way, I'll be keeping an eye on you Outlast.
