I'm here to simply challenge this problem with gamers. Why must we instantly resort to insults and animosity when something new comes into one of our favorite games? The new Devil May Cry game called "DMC" has received a lot of flak for simply changing the way the main character looks. Just because someone looks different doesn't mean that they are no longer the character you know and love, not to mention the idiotic statements of "this game is going to suck" simply because Dante looks different.
Now I know that shelling out $60 for a new game can be a bit nerve racking, especially if you're on a tight budget. But just because something looks different doesn't necessarily mean that the entire game is going to be awful. What I'm trying to say is that we need to start acting like adults. Especially if we wish to be treated as such.
Enough with the "oh his hair is different this game is going to suck" or "they changed the way the car looks, I'm not getting this game." It's time to grow up. Things change; it's a natural part of life. We cope with it in the real world so why can we not cope with it in the world of video games? Have a bit more faith. Just because something changed to your favorite game doesn't set in stone that the game is going to be horrible. I'm not saying "buy the damn game" because that's not my decision to make, it's yours. I'm just trying to keep your minds open.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't want to keep shelling out $60 for the same Call of Duty game or the same Dynasty Warriors game. Give me a different experience. How about a story that doesn't involve Russians and nukes? How about some innovation?
How about it guys? You think you can keep an open mind? If we show the industry that we accept change with open arms, maybe we'll get a game that changes the way we play.
