Either way it leaves us all searching the web for any kind of details. It's good for Game Informer and their sales, but it leaves a chunk of the mass audience in the dark for a bit. I kind of wish that this practice was used less. Or you know, give everyone the details and embargo the information. Whatever though, it's good for their profits.
Moving on to the stuff you really clicked the link for, there is some very basic information floating out there. That is until Gamescom and PAX Prime take place were the game will be playable for Press and the general gaming community. So if you are heading to either one of those conventions, you might want to alter some plans to get a little bit of hands on time with Borderlands 2. Just like Game Informer, you will be some of the first to get any details on the new additions to the franchise.
Speaking of, here is what has been glimpsed so far on the new features:
- Two new characters
- New skills
- New environments
- New enemies
- New weapons
- New equipment
- Release window 4/1/2012 - 3/31/2013
So, that list pretty much dictates the bare minimums to define the game as a sequel and not just DLC. I am sure there will be a flood of new stuff in the next few weeks, but this isn't the best announcement I've ever seen. I enjoyed Borderlands and some of the DLC, but this doesn't have me ultimately clamoring for the game yet. It will take a bit more defining for me.
