While wandering the booths of CES the AggroGamer team happened upon the new design and updated controller in the wild. Something we almost missed out on as it has been give then new name of Hydra and an extremely different design. But that did not mean that any of the awesomeness we were shown a year prior had gone away. Not in the least bit.
If you look below you can see the controllers being used at the Intel booth to show off Portal 2 and a bit of the custom things added to the game specifically for the Hydra's use. Most of which allows you to alter objects on all axis of existence, in some cases changing their physical properties so that you can solve a few puzzles you may run into.
While the presenter said that these were going to be exclusive to those who have the Hydra controllers, I think it is easy to assume that with the Move and Kinect that it isn't out of the realm of possibilities to see these hitting every platform that Portal 2 is going to be on. I mean last year we were talking to the guys about suing Sony for making the Move so much like their product. I guess we'll see.
Enjoy the videos showcasing both Portal 2 and the Hydra controllers.
