Although the main character is created by the player, this cinematic follows the adventures of everyone's favorite feathered football, the chicken. Fable 3 takes place during an age of industry and we see a lot of that highlighted in this trailer. The entire video is obviously a metaphor for our hero; you are the same as this 'brave chicken' - challenging Albion and its dangers. Fighting for freedom with only death awaiting you if you fail.
This trailer comes to us along with some news. Peter Molyneux announced to IGN earlier this week that although Fable 3 will be released on PC and XBox 360, the PC version would be delayed for an unannounced period of time, but the 360 version would still release on October 26th. Originally back in June, Molyneux had announced that both titles would be released at the same time, but it looks like plans have changed. PC gamers are once again left waiting.
"The console and PC versions are now on different schedules as we're focusing on building experiences optimized for each platform," publisher Microsoft explained. "We aren't announcing a ship date for the PC sku at this time, but expect news soon." |
What these experiences are and how much they differ from each other are still unknown, but I hope it's worth it. In other news, Molyneux was recently interviewed on The Engadget Show Live! During his interview, he dropped a bombshell by telling listeners that Fable 3 will not have Microsoft Kinect functionality at launch. Kinect support and content may arrive later, but players will have to wait with no date yet revealed for when that content will be released. I'm a bit surprised by this since Kinect support was one of the big features Molyneux was promoting with Fable 3, especially since he's talked about it constantly since we first heard about the title.
